PROJECT OBJECTIVES
Habitat’s local programme ‘Operation Homeworks’ was conceived to improve the living conditions of homes, especially those of the elderly and handicap.
Our surveys have shown that many needy elderly and handicap persons live alone. Their homes are usually cluttered with things. Being elderly or handicap, they are also unable to thoroughly clean their homes. This often gives rise to safety and health issues.
In Operation Homeworks, Habitat helps to mobilize volunteers to do a proper clean up of their homes.Operation Homeworks intends to achieve the following aims:
1. Improve SAFETY of the home
For example: provide trunking of electrical wires so that home accidents are reduced due to the improved home conditions.
2. Improve SANITATION of the home
For example: see to the repair of toilet systems and the changing of beds infested with bed-bugs so that the health of the elderly and living conditions can improve as a result of a better and cleaner home environment.

If your school or organization would like Habitat for Humanity Singapore to organize Operation Homeworks for you, you only need to contribute a donation.
The donation goes towards the liaison work and assessment of the beneficiaries, the pre-event logistical arrangements, event day coordination work and post event follow up with the beneficiaries.
