Batam
Build

Volunteer overseas with Habitat Singapore

Batam Build is part of Habitat’s Global Village programme and is designed with a short build duration for volunteers. The programme brings people of diverse backgrounds together to build and be a catalyst for change in the communities around the world.

Volunteers contribute to building projects that improve the living conditions of thousands of residents in Batam's villages, who often reside in inadequate housing conditions (scrap wood, tin sheets) which are highly susceptible to leakage, floods and collapse during monsoon seasons.

Based on community project goals, volunteers may take part in building, repairing and improving homes, as well as other critical projects such as latrine builds and creating access to clean water. Volunteers not only address immediate community needs but also support Habitat’s long-term work and vision where everyone has a decent place to live.
