Update 27/5/2015: A record total of 6,000 people walked barefoot at Bare Your Sole 2015! Thank you one and all for participating and making this event a successful one. Together we raised SGD $350,000 for our lcoal programme, Project HomeWorks. We look forward to seeing you in 2016!
I have absolutely no idea where the time went... we are on to have our 7th annual bare-foot walk event, Bare Your Sole 2015!
We are privileged to have many supporters and volunteers coming alongside us each year to walk bare-foot, with the idea that "we wear no shoes to remember those with no homes". We want to encourage as many people as possible to come join in this simple event, so that this would result in a stirring of the soul, and that in turn would encourage people to go out and do something to make this world a better place.
And there are of course some among us who would really go all out. Our super support 'ultraman' Mr Lim Nghee Huat has started his audacious '50 days-50 km a day' run to commemorate SG50 together with another runner Mr Yong Yuen Cheng. Each day will see the team running at a different place, with support from a different organisation. For us, the team will be flagged off with the bare-foot walkers at Sentosa, on the Bare Your Sole event on May 30th!
I am still completely amazed at the tenacity of folks like Mr Lim and Mr Yong. Very few of us can do such things... I do the marathon, but would need 1 month to recover from one run; yet these people are running one every day for 50 days!
So come down and support our Bare Your Sole 2015, on May 30th at Sentosa. You can walk bare foot, and if you are fit enough, run a segment with our ultraman. Spread the word for us! Make this world a better place.
