"It was such a humbling and eye-opening experience for the firm, especially for our expat colleagues who came to Singapore with a mindset that we are one of the cleanest countries in the world, to find such trash-filled areas. That said, being thanked by the local residents as we walked pass reminded us that even a simple gesture such as picking up litter goes a long way.”

about litterally
LitteRally is Habitat Singapore's mass volunteering event of 2019. Held on 25th May, LitteRally is a family-friendly, free-participation-for-all event to mark the end of the month-long Keep Clean Singapore movement by the Public Hygiene Council.
LitteRally participants are invited to join us on specially curated routes that are accessible to volunteers of all ages and abilities. The routes will lead participants through the Ang Mo Kio, Bishan and Marymount estates to the main event meeting point at The Promenade in Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park - and all while picking up litter on the go!
Once arriving at The Promenade, participants are invited to visit the booths run by various green groups to take part in upcycling workshops and learn more about zero waste habits or tips on going plastic-free. If you're lucky, you may also get a photo op with Minister of Environment and Water Resources Mr Masagos Zulkifli, who will be making an appearance as our Guest-of-Honour!
We hope that with LitteRally, everyone will have a deeper sense of civic-mindedness and be aware of not contributing to the trash in our neighbourhoods. We should all be able to clean up after ourselves instead of rely on our army of cleaners. Our shared spaces as an extension of our home and it is up to us to keep home - Singapore - clean and green.
the evolution of litterally
Every year, Habitat Singapore organises one mass annual event aimed at finding meaningful ways to engage large numbers of volunteers to make a positive impact in our communities across the island. From 2 editions of Home Sweep Home, our mass event this year has evolved to emphasize sustainable living, zero waste lifestyles & healthy litter-free home environments.
LitteRally evolved from our regular litter-picking volunteering programmed called UnLitter Red Dot. It started with small groups of school & corporate volunteers cleaning up residential neighbourhoods near them to scaling up with hundreds of volunteers during Home Sweep Home.
